چکیده

The antibiotics chloramphenicol, lincomycin and erythromycin have been shown to be specific inhibitors of mitOchondrial protein synthesis in yeast, both in vitro and in vivo --(Clark-Walker & Linnane, 1966, 1967; Linnane, Lamb, Christodoulou & Lukins, 1968). Yeast cells growing in the presence of any of these antibiotics can no longer synthesize the mitochondrial cytochromes 5, 3, b, and 2, but their growth in glucose medium is unaffected. The observations have been interpreted as indicating that in yeast the four insoluble cytochromes of the terminal electron transport system are synthesized by mitochondria, while protein synthesis by the cytoplasmic ribosomal system is not inhibited by these antibiotics.

Cisplatin cytotoxicity is dependent on mitochondrial respiration in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Objective(s): To understand the role of mitochondrial respiration in cisplatin sensitivity, we have employed wild-type and mitochondrial DNA depleted Rho0 yeast cells. Materials and Methods: Wild type and Rho0 yeast cultured in fermentable and non-fermentable sugar containing media, were studied for their sensitivity against cisplatin by monitoring growth curves, oxygen consumption, pH changes ...

Effects of supplementation of Satureja khuzistanica Jamzad essential oils in the drinking water on growth performance, serum metabolites and differential counts of white blood cells in broiler chickens

This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of Satureja khuzistanica essential oils (SKEO) on performance, serum metabolites and differential counts of white blood cells in broiler chickens. A total of 280 one-day-old straight-run Cobb 500 broiler chickens were allocated into seven treatment groups with four replicates of 10 birds each from day 1 to 42 of age. The birds were continuously...

Mathematical Modeling of Cancer Cells and Chemotherapy Protocol Dealing Optimization Using Fuzzy Differential Equations And Lypunov Stability Criterion

Mathematical models can simulate the growth and proliferation of cells in the interaction with healthy cells, the immune system and measure the toxicity of drug and its effects on healthy tissue pay. One of the main goals of modeling the structure and growth of cancer cells is to find a control model suitable for administration among patients. In this study, a new mathematical model is designed...

The Effects of Novel Mutations in A1 Domain of Human Coagulation Factor VIII on Its Secretion Level in Cultured Mammalian Cells

Inefficient secretion of the human coagulation factor (hFVIII) in mammalian expression systems is one ofthe main causes of the hFVIII low expression level, attributed to its interaction with a chaperone known asBiP/GRP78. In order to improve secretion efficiency of the hFVIII, based on the higher secretion level of theporcine FVIII and analysis of the hFVIII A110 region, that ...

P-91: The Effects of Mesenchymal StemCell- Conditioned Medium on The Fertilization Rate and Embryo Development inNMRI Mice

Background: Normal growth of oocytes, embryos and also successful implantation depend on environmental factors such as the secretion of cumulus cells and composition of follicular and tubular fluids. Therefore, addition of serum, conditioned medium (CM) to the culture medium and also co-culture with somatic cells improve mammalian embryo development. So, in the respect to the secretion of diffe...
